    The Kingsport Board of Education officially named the facility after the two highly decorated Indians coaches roughly a year ago. The two men won a combined nine state track and field team championships and coached 19 individuals who collected multiple gold medals at the TSSAA meet.

    Their names are synonymous with track and field at Dobyns-Bennett High School. As head coaches of the D-B track program, Dan Crowe and Tom Coughenour set a standard of excellence that was known not only in Northeast Tennessee but across the entire state. Between them, they won nine state team championships and coached 19 individuals who won multiple state titles. Crowe, who passed away in 2005, and Coughenour, who died in 2008, both have been inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. And now another honor will come their way.
